Alesco Corporation Limited announced that it has entered into an unconditional agreement to purchase Lincoln Sentry, effective 31 January 2007.
Lincoln Sentry is one of Australia’s leading suppliers and distributors of hardware and components to the Cabinet and Furniture Making Industry and the Window, Door and Glazing Industries. The business markets an extensive range of leading domestic and global hardware and component brands, including Blum, Assa Abloy, 3M and Dow Corning.
It operates through a national network of five metropolitan centres and 18 regional branches throughout Australia plus a distribution centre in Auckland, New Zealand. Its senior management team is based in Brisbane.
Lincoln Sentry will form the third company in Alesco’s newly named Building Division encompassing Kitchen, Laundry, Window and Door industries. Alesco has a strong understanding of the Kitchen & Laundry market segments through its existing businesses of Parbury, which markets and distributes decorative surfaces including Wilsonart laminates and Silestone engineered stone.
Lincoln Sentry has a strong focus on hardware and component distribution to its specialised trade industries, and will run independently of, and separately to the Parbury business. The hardware division currently within the broader Parbury business will be consolidated into Lincoln Sentry, to form Australia’s largest specialist hardware distributor to the Kitchen, Window and Door Industries. Parbury will continue to focus on the decorative surfaces markets.
